How much faster is Rapid Reviews than competitors for product reviews? So much!
Let’s look at how much faster Rapid Reviews is compared to Yotpo on a Shopify product page.
As anyone in the Shopify ecosystem knows, Yotpo is a slow app. It hurts page speed and performs poorly in pretty much every area (perhaps except for breadth of supplemental features). Yotpo is expensive, with tiered price lock-ins, and hidden feature costs. Rapid Reviews has none of these issues — all with blazing performance.
I ran a simple product page test between Rapid Reviews and Yotpo, and Rapid Reviews absolutely smoked Yotpo—it’s not even close.
The widget test I ran was also heavily skewed in favor of Yotpo! The Rapid Reviews page has 900+ reviews and 30+ questions. The Yotpo page had just 1 review.
For this test, I compared the following:
- Rapid Reviews demo site page on Debut theme: https://demo.williambelk.com/products/nike-invincible-3
- Yotpo installed with 1 review, star rating widget, and reviews widget (below the fold only)
- Rapid Reviews installed with 900+ reviews, 30+ questions, star rating widget, full media gallery, and reviews widget (above and below the fold)
The difference:
- 15+ points mobile Google PageSpeed Insights score
- ~2 second difference in total javascript execution time*
- ~1 second difference in browser thread blocking time**
*Javascript execution time hurts rendering, page load, will often hurt scrolling and smoothness of a page.
**Browser thread blocking time means that the browser must wait until performing its next action—that it is blocked by an in-process task.
Conclusion
Rapid Reviews is much faster than Yotpo in every way. It’s not even close.
